I have to attest to the effectiveness of letting kids help. Since I first read this article, I have asked James to help me cook the vegetables, which consisted of putting some frozen veggies in a pan and adding a little kosher salt. He loves it so much that he's proud to show off "his cooking," and now eats vegetables!
